1/28/17 The Confederate States succession from the Union was motivated by the Hate, Greed and Self-entitlement based Arrogance of a relatively small number of people. The North had more soldiers, more weapons, and most, if not all of the factories; but none of that mattered. The thought of losing any of the Power they had accumulated, as well as the Human Beings ("their Slaves") that they considered their free workforce, drove them to use Fear and Lies to create Civil War. It wasn't the first or last time this strategy was utilized. Hitler's rise and fall from Power in Germany is one of the prime examples. So it’s Deja vous all over again. We can't allow a small group of People consumed by Power, and their uncontrollable need for more Power, to turn us against each other. Don't believe the Lies they tell, no matter how many times they repeat them, how emphatically they state them, how many people they have state them, or what they call them, i.e. Alternate facts, etc. And don't fall for their attempts to make us scared of each other based on differences like color, race, disability, gender, gender-preference, sexual-preference or religion. Since the People in Power are not setting good examples for us, it's up to Each One of Us to be Good Examples for Each Other. So be kind, polite, pleasant, and helpful, and not just to the people you know, but to everyone you come in contact with. We'll not only being setting Good Examples for each other, but we'll show the World that the United Sates of America is a Great Country.
1/20/17 I hereby Proclaim Today and every day that follows "Civility Matters Day". I'm inviting everyone to join in the festivities which include lending a helping hand, using manners, smiling at folks that don't look you, contributing your time and/or resources to help others and a variety of other Acts of Kindness. Everyone who participates will be awarded an amazing gift. A Warm Fuzzy Feeling Deep Inside that makes you smile from the inside out. Please do me a favor and post your Acts of Kindness and/or those of others. Not because I want you to brag, but because I think it would be healthy for us all to see how many people have Good Hearts and care about others.
Cari's Aunt and Uncle held Civility Dinners. Below is one of the invitations.
